Frequently Asked Questions about the Grand Parkway:

Q:  Where can I find more information about the section of the Grand Parkway near our neighborhood?
A:  Extensive documentation on segment G can be found here:  http://www.grandpky.com/segments/g/news.asp

Q:  I want to challenge the Grand Parkway, who can I contact?
A:  All public hearings on the location of the Grand Parkway have been completed and no further public input on the location of the Parkway is being taken.  The individual specifics of the Parkway have not been fully determined (entrance/exit ramps, sound walls, drainage, specific above/below grade areas).  A direct contact at the Grand Parkway is David Gornet at 713-965-0871.

Q:  I live in West/East/Southgate and would like to know if there will be sound walls like areas along Beltway 8?
A:  The documents about the section G of the Grand Parkway indicate concerns about noise pollution and the installation of sound walls to prevent that noise pollution though no specific indications show that sound walls will or will not be built.

Q:  Will Northgate Crossing Blvd and/or Nelson St be blocked by the Grand Parkway?
A:  It has been confirmed that Northgate Crossing Blvd will not be blocked and will have an above grade crossing.  It is unsure at this time if Nelson St will be cut off as the documents do not clearly indicate if the road is at grade level when crossing Nelson St.

Q:  When will the Grand Parkway be completed?
A:  The land necessary to build the Grand Parkway will be purchased through 2009 and 2010.  The documents currently indicate a completion date of around 2014 to 2015, though with the current economic conditions this could be delayed as large projects of this nature often are.
