TIME: All trash items must be placed at your proper collection area by 7:00am on your service days. Waste Management’s trash collection begins at 7:00am and ends at 7:00pm each day. Your pick up times may vary due to routing and truck utilization; please make sure to have your material, unobstructed, and ready for collection.

YARD WASTE: Grass, leaves, and tree limbs/branches are the only items accepted as yard waste. Yard waste may be counted as part of the bags’ limit. Loose grass and leaves must be bagged, not to exceed 40 pounds in weight per bag. Tree limbs/branches must not exceed 3 inches in diameter or 4 feet in length and must be securely tied to form a bundle, not to exceed 40 pounds in weight and must be placed at the CURB.

MISSED PICK-UP:  Should a resident fail to place trash out in time for pick-up, recovery will be made on the next scheduled service day.  For missed pick-up due to WM Crew error, pick-up will be made the same day if WM is notified on the service day before 5pm or, if notified after service day, pick-up will be made by 12:00 noon the day after WM has been notified.

PROHIBITED ITEMS: Waste Management can not pick up hazardous waste such as motor oil, paints of any type, automotive parts, tires, gasoline, construction debris, remodeling debris, carpeting or roofing materials.  Additionally, Waste Management may not collect any appliances that contain or may contain CFC’s (refrigerators, air conditioning units) without it first being drained and tagged by a certified technician.

Heavy Trash Requirements
Heavy trash is comprised of items such as large bulky items such as sofas, chairs, furniture, washers/dryers, etc.  These items can be placed out for pickup on Saturday only.  There is a limit of two heavy trash items per pickup.  Items that contain CFC's, such as refrigerators or air conditioning units must have the refrigerant removed by a facility licensed to do so and a tag from the facility indicating the CFC has been removed prior to pickup.  All items must be placed on the curb for pickup.  If you have issues with pickup, call Waste Management at the phone number listed above.

Alternative Heavy Trash Disposal
If you have items which Waste Management will not pickup, you may be able to dump these items at the Precinct 4 public dumpster.  You can find details on which items may be dumped at the Harris County website at:  http://www.hcp4.net/cad/publicdumpsterform.htm  The dumpster is located at 4603 Spring Cypress Rd, near the Kuykendahl Rd and Spring Cypress Rd intersection.
